Ham Cheese & Apple Calzone Recipe
1 standard dough
½ cup ham diced
½ cup mozzarella
¼ cup parmesan cheese
2 small granny smith apples
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon horseradish
Combine the ham, apples, milk and horseradish and
cook uncovered over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Shape the pizza dough into a circle (you can make
4 small, 2 medium, or 1 large). Arrange a small amount of the apple
mixture over half of the circular dough leaving a border of ½
of an inch uncovered. Brush the border with water and fold over the
uncovered half to enclose the filling. Press the edges together to make
a tight seal. Place the calzone(s) on a pizza stone and cook at 415°F
for 20 minutes or until dough begins to brown. Remove from oven and
be careful! Calzones will come out extremely hot and will have runny
apply sauce that is prone to leaking.
Let your calzone sit for 2-5 minutes, then enjoy!
